FENNEL SEED

Fennel seeds have a rich history that spans across various cultures and time periods. They were first cultivated in either Greece or Italy, where they were used both medicinally and in culinary applications. The ancient Greeks and Romans extensively used fennel seeds, incorporating them into their diets and medicinal practices, including treatments for stomachaches, snake bites, and uterine health.

Fennel seeds are often confused with anise seeds due to their similar licorice-like flavour, but they belong to different species within the parsley family.
